Cracking your knuckles.
Have you ever thought how excruciating it is to hear someone else crack their knuckles? But you enjoy doing it yourself.
The same with whining about something. You enjoy it yourself but do you even wonder how painful it is to bear a barrage of whining.
First off – there’s a question one has to bear in mind “Does it help?” “Does it do any good?” If the response to those questions are “No”, then stop whining. Mind you, complaining and whining are two different things.
Complaining has a face to it. Whining has no face to it. Complaining is legitimate. Whining doesn’t really have a legitimacy to it.
So next time you plan to open up about whining about something, think twice. Or you know, just do it when you are alone.
